Welcome to Bug Bug!

I’m Lorilin, a stay-at-home mom in Chicago who reads books to stay sane. Even though I spend most of my day looking after my lovely and wild children, I always make time to read—mostly fiction, wellness, cookbooks, and lots of books on gardening.

It’s actually one of the only facial reactions we can’t control, which is why poker players wear sunglasses. When they get a good hand of cards, their eyes can’t lie! Crazy, huh?! . . The Art of Reading Minds is absolutely brimming with interesting info on how to read people. It talks about how to establish rapport with strangers so that they end up feeling like you’re best friends. It also teaches you how to read body language—down to the direction a person moves her eyes or how she crosses her legs—so that you can actually know what a person is thinking and feeling (sometimes even before they do!) Such a fascinating read, and I learned a lot. To audible or not to audible, that is the question. I’m listening to my very first #audiobook—the audio version of #notesonanervousplanet by #matthaig—and I keep having to revert back to my print copy. I like Haig’s voice, and I like the tempo I have it set at, but sometimes I feel my mind either wandering or getting overwhelmed by the sheer input of sound. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . I dunno, do you guys listen to audiobooks? Or do you stick to the good ol’ written word?
