SYNOPSIS
When beautiful and popular high school student Andie Bell was murdered five years ago, the entire New England town where she lived was shocked. Of course everyone was on high alert looking for the murderer, but then Andie’s boyfriend killed himself shortly thereafter and it seemed like the mystery had solved itself, case closed.
But something about the situation never quite sat right for fellow student Pippa Fitz-Amobi. So for her senior project, she decides to devote her wannabe-journalist “expertise” to discovering what really happened. She joins forces with Ravi, the alleged-murderer’s brother, and together they take a second look at the case—interviewing friends, family members, and former suspects while re-examining evidence, old and new. During the course of their investigation, they’ll begin to answer some of the case’s unresolved questions…and put themselves in danger in the process. The question is, how far will Pippa and Ravi go to uncover the truth?
MY THOUGHTS
Young adult mysteries and thrillers aren’t my usual genre of choice, but I saw this book all over Instagram and decided I had to give it a try. Honestly, I loved it! Yes, it’s a little predictable at moments, but it is a solidly entertaining read. Pippa is such a fun character. I loved her personality and fearlessness. She’s smart but still innocent, and I appreciate that. Plus, the book’s ending is perfect and brought me the exact right amount of closure I needed. Such a fantastic whodunnit for the younger crowd.
