Oh man, remember when I used to, like, read books?
In April, I was so busy with my botany class that the only book I read was Botany for Gardeners.
And I guess a bunch of other books about citrus—all for a presentation I had to give on lemons. (Did you know that lemons are actually berries?!) But I didn’t write reviews for any of them, and I’m not going to. Mostly because my brain is fried. Seriously, my class took up every spare second of my time. I loved it, and I learned a lot (and got an A, whaaaa?), but I’m exhausted.
Right now, I’m just happy to relax. It’s officially spring and finally warmer in Chicago. I’ve been working in the garden at my kids’ school a lot, and I love it. I can’t believe how much we’ve accomplished in just a few weeks. These kids hustle, straight up. The space is looking cleaner and more vibrant. Our vegetable seeds are germinating and poking through the soil. It’s been a very fulfilling experience so far, and I can’t wait to keep growing stuff over the hot summer months.
I’m assuming I’ll have more time to read now, too. Summer is always busy, but I know there will still be downtime at the beach, at the pool, and probably at the garden while I water all da plants.
I hope everyone out there is doing well. I’m sending the good vibes! 😀
